I undertook this journey to ‘do more yoga’. I emerged from it with so much more spiritual and personal understanding and depth than I expected. The physical aspect of training is the easiest part. I logged 64 classes on my mat in four months. But it’s the personal depth, demon-facing, heart-seeking, meditation patience and detachment from preferences, experiences, expectations, comparisons, achievements and demands on self, others and the universe that makes this so much more than a job, a qualification or the checkbox ticking of ‘doing more yoga’. In the year that I will turn 40, I am so grateful for the enlightenment I’ve experienced through yoga teacher’s training.
